Alonso Optimistic Ferrari Will Make a Surprise

MELBOURNE - Fernando Alonso still keep up hope Ferrari will make a surprise even though they started the Formula One Grand Prix 2011 in Australia on March 27, then with less good. Spanish rider is optimistic, Ferrari could rival the two rival weight, Red Bull Racing and McLaren.

In the race in Melbourne, Australia, two weeks ago, Ferrari was one of favorites to win following a good performance during preseason testing. However, the above facts are very different trajectories for the Maranello squad rider can not compete with Red Bull, Sebastian Vettel, or McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton, in the hunt for the number one podium. As a result, Alonso only finish in fourth position with a time of 30 seconds adrift of Vettel, the winner.
This weekend Alonso and Ferrari look again at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia. Though no major changes are made, the former world champion 2005 and 2006 were felt Ferrari had the potential to achieve even better results.

"We know, we must increase the level of performance, but ultimately we both realize that the race is not a disaster," said Alonso through the official Ferrari website.

"We will have some minor updates in the car, but not very significant, or things that maybe you could tell be the key to jump while performing."

"I believe, we must continue to concentrate on our own job and try to understand how to remove all of the potential of the car. I'm sure there will be a lot of things to come."

Alonso also admitted that the unpredictable weather at Sepang GP this weekend should be a concern of the team. Therefore, the team must have some plan so that it can face a variety of possible scenarios related to the weather.
