KATE Middleton seemed to be always compared to that Lady Diana. Not long ago, Kate looks carrying a Tod's handbag collection dedicated to the late mother-in-law.
Kate Middleton caught on camera carrying a D-Bag brand Tods, classic leather tote bag named after the Italian label from Princess Diana. The name is used after the death of Lady Di in 1997.
Though it has been updated since its launch with a characteristic rounded corners and one zipper, superior styles still exist, such as quality leather materials, open seams, and a luxurious classic design without clearly displaying designer labels.
Of course, luxury does not come cheaply. A collection with a simple leather version priced USD1.665 (Rp14, 4 million), a luxury version with detail platinum priced from USD4.650 (Rp40 million), while the glossy crocodile leather version appreciated until USD28.000 (Rp241 million). Similarly, as reported by the Daily Mail on Wednesday (04/27/2011).
Diego Della Valle, the son of the founder of the company, reveals the reason Tods take the name of the late Diana for one of her collection.
"He was a tremendous supporter for our products," he told the Times in an interview.
He explained that the former wife of Prince Charles is looking for his own collection of Tod's desired; a look at some stores, unlike most upper-class women who carry expensive handbags highlighted by the press.
"It's exciting for us because it uses the D-Bag in a variety of occasions, whether formal dinner or when he was in Africa," he added.
Tods was founded in the late 1920s by Dorino Della Valle, Diego's father. Dorino young Della Valle saw an unusual studded sandals in a vintage shop in the United States in the 1970s. This is what later inspired him to design a product brand that is now known to be successful.
Some artists who have a similar bag with Kate is Kate Bosworth, Jessica Alba with shiny bright red color, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Leighton Meester, and Zoe Saldana also has a bag with different versions.
